This diptych is my deconstruction of SoHo. I move from the tangible—the deep reds and sharp angles of Broome Street—into a space where the city begins to dissolve. I see New York as a place of 'echoes,' where vertical columns serve as both structural support and the haze of memory.
By balancing representation with abstraction, I wanted to evoke the feeling of a city that is simultaneously heavy and fleeting. The cool tones represent that fleeting transition toward twilight, while the brushwork hides the intersection of Broome and Greene, waiting to be de-coded.
